Laura Pruett

Laura Pruett began her writing career at the ripe age of approximately three, by signing her name in all her books. From there she moved on to writing random words on doors, and eventually to kindergarten stories about a Santa Claus nobody had ever told her about. (On actual paper this time. Progress!)

When college classes asked, "If you could do any career you wanted, what would it be?" she answered, "I would like to edit dictionaries." She did not end up editing dictionaries. She did get a psychology degree, with an English minor, and in 2011 she started freelancing on Elance (now Upwork). It turned out she liked fixing words more than writing them, so for years she edited just about everything: memoirs, novels, self-help books, scientific reports, financial reports, GoFundMe pages, and Michael C. Sahd's Assassin Marked and The Unfettered Child.

After years of nudging friends to publish, she finally took her own advice. She's published the children's picture books The Dwarves Of Dimmerdown and My First Book Of Strangers: The People I Don't Know, plus the holiday story Just A Little Christmas B&E. She's currently writing A World Apart, Gedra Gets a Man and To Catch A Fish (and a few others she's not telling you about yet). She's also building a board game called Between Storms, which is still a prototype. More on that soon.

And when she isn't writing? Laura writes; Kipoerneke streams. Kipoerneke is a little pile of pixels questing through EverQuest Legends, EverQuest II and Watcher of Realms on Kipoerneke's Korner, live on Twitch, YouTube, Kick and X. We're not the same ... or are we? Come chat and find out. Everything lives at linktr.ee/laura_pruett.
